J. Herbin Cornaline d'Egypte 1798 Ink - 50mL

This 50ml glass bottle of J. Herbin 1798 Cornaline d'Egypte fountain pen ink is a deep orange color reminiscent of the semi-precious gemstone carnelian. A silver mist provides a lustrous shimmering and sheen effect.

The ancient Egyptians considered carnelian to be one of the most calming and healing semi-precious gemstones. It was believed to elevate the mood, eliminate stress and was used as a symbol of life.

1798 commemorates a significant year in J. Herbin's history. At this time, the French Revolution was ending, and the Herbin company, founded in 1670, was growing. In 1798 the company relocated to expand their production capabilities and the influence of their inks and sealing wax.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging.
